A sturdy French Oak Washstand comprising a beautiful fossilised red variegated marble inset top and sides. Flanking the sides there is a pair of turned towel rails, possibly a later addition.
 
Sitting beneath the marble is a full-width drawer with finely constructed dovetail joints and a divider inside and mouldings to the front with a pair of turned drawer pulls. The front turned tapering legs lead down to a solid shelf below.
 
The washstand has been cleaned and re-waxed and retains a good aged patina with minor age-related marks.
